Biography

As an outright family law specialist, Sarah is frequently instructed on all facets of family law proceedings in the County Court and the High Court. Her caseload includes instructions to advise and represent clients in relation to the following types of case:

Matrimonial Finance & Financial Settlement

  • Applications for Financial Orders after divorce
  • Child and spousal maintenance
  • Assets including pensions and property (including cohabitation TOLATA claims)
  • Pre- and Post-Nuptial Agreements, Co-Habitation Agreements, Separation Agreements
  • Representation at all stages of hearings, from First Appointments (FDAs) through to Final Hearings

Before returning to the Bar, Sarah spent a number of years in private practice gaining experience in probate, property and commercial law, all of which she finds is most helpful in her family cases because of the inevitable cross-over where assets in financial proceedings are concerned.

Such a broad understanding of the wider issues particularly in property, cohabitation and proprietary estoppel, has often proven advantageous to her clients, either in negotiating more acceptable outcomes, explaining more clearly the context of a situation, or assisting them in choosing an appropriate course of action for the future.

Child Arrangements

  • Child Arrangement Orders (CAOs)
  • Live With Orders
  • Contact and residence arrangements
  • Specific issues and Prohibited Steps Orders (PSOs)
  • Parental Responsibility
  • Domestic Abuse Hearings (including contested fact-finding hearings)
  • Non-Molestation and Occupation Orders
  • Dealing with welfare and medical reports and CAFCASS
  • Representation at all stages of hearings, from First Hearings (FHDRAs), interim hearings (including fact-findings) through to contested Final Hearings and Appeals

Sarah is also a neurolinguistics qualified NLP Practitioner, which provides her with essential communication, negotiation and presentation skills. With an approachable style, Sarah works hard to ensure parties do not feel overwhelmed by their situation and helps guide clients through both practical as well as legal issues.

Outside of work, Sarah enjoys time with her family and dabbling in gardening. She is keen on travel and enjoys spending time in France whenever possible.
